How We Can Respond

Good morning everyone!
Hope you all slept well last night and are fresh and ready for a new day!
Erica asked us on Sunday what is it that we want to give? As we see in the Christmas story and through His life, Jesus gave of Himself. His heart is for others and as we approach this Christmas season it is important that we realign our hearts to His and ask ourselves what we can give to others as well.
As Erica said "when we find our hope in Jesus, it helps us to be at peace, being at peace helps us see the joy that is before us....Knowing our hope helps us reorient towards the right response."
And so, if we see beyond the to do lists, the gifts, the food, the gatherings, and the busyness of the season, and what you don't have ready, but rather pause and take the time to slow down and ask where you could be the hands and feet of Jesus for others this Christmas, we will see where we can give of ourselves. Maybe it's to volunteer on Christmas Day for the Christmas Supper we are putting on for the community? Maybe it is to cook a meal or buy a gift for someone who has very little money? Maybe it is to offer a helping hand to your neighbor in some way? Whatever the case may be, we know there are needs all around us where God can use us to extend His love and His compassion this season.
It's so important that in the midst of it all, we keep our eyes on Jesus and remember why He came and that He is our true source of Hope and Peace. When we do so, and choose the right response during this season, we will see little Christmas miracles as God works in us and through us!

Matthew 25:34-36
34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. 36 I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’
Matthew 25:37-40
37 “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? 39 When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’
40 “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,[c] you were doing it to me!’

Have a wonderful day! 😊
