Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful sleep! What a wonderful weekend we had indeed! We truly are stronger together and what a privilege and honor it was for us to host this year's district camp meeting. I hope and pray that this past weekend will be a springboard into the future of what our churches through the power of the Holy Spirit caan do for our communities.
Yesterday morning we had the awesome privilege of hearing our Bishop preach a sermon about being stronger together. One of the things that I can pull out of his sermon is that we must recognize God in us in order to be stronger together. I recently had a conversation with Pastor Mona where she used the analogy of an acorn and how an acorn has everything it needs inside of it in order to become a mighty and strong tree. This goes along so well with what the Bishop said. We have the Holy Spirit living within us and therefore we have everything we need In order to become the person God created us to be for his Kingdom, for his glory, for his honor, to make him known, to proclaim his Goodness and greatness and ultimately be stronger together!
Here is a quote by Elizabeth Elliott
Think of the self that God has given as an acorn. It is a marvelous little thing, a perfect shape, perfectly designed for its purpose, perfectly functional. Think of the grand glory of an oak tree. God’s intention when He made the acorn was the oak tree. His intention for us is ‘… the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.’ Many deaths must go into our reaching that measure, many letting-goes. When you look at the oak tree, you don’t feel that the loss’ of the acorn is a very great loss. The more you perceive God’s purpose in your life, the less terrible the losses seem.”
As a family we are going through a difficulty right now, but knowing and understanding who we are will help us navigate these waters in the days ahead. Just like that Acorn that has everything it needs to become a great oak tree, you and I have everything we need to become the people God created us to be. No matter what we are facing or going through right now we need to perceive that God has a great plan for each one of us. My encouragement is to let God show you his purpose in your life and to let go of the things that are no longer necessary. Recognize that God is in you and we have everything we need for the days ahead. May God continue to help us grow and become those mighty oak trees he intended for us to be.
We are stronger together when we know who God is in us!
God bless!

Thanks ash for this wonderful reminder! I too can strongly agree that this weekend has reminded me of the God that is in me. That he holds my every moment, he holds my life together and no matter what passes through his hands to teach me life valuable lessons, I must trust his plan.... That it is good and will benefit me in my future. It will strengthen me. I love the last part of the quote you put... "when you look at the oak tree, you don't feel that the loss of the acorn is a very great loss. The more you perceive Gods purpose in your life, the less terrible the losses seem." It reminds me that no matter what God is removing or exposing, it's for a greater reason, to refine my relationship with him.. to bring me to the next step in my life.
Thanks for sharing Maegs â¤ï¸ He truly does love us...
Amen
