Good morning church family!
We can comment again! Don't hesitate to leave a comment after the devo. If you are having issues, let us know. :)
Doug asked a question on Sunday: Can others see Christ because of what you have on?
He was talking about putting Christ on and he gave the illustration of going to the right closet to put on what we need. Not ourselves, but Christ since He has all that we need for every circumstance.
Doug also said this: You are always reflecting something to someone!
When we go to our own wisdom and understanding and in our pride not depend on Christ but ourselves, that is reflected to those around us.
James 1:23-25 says
23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.
The word of God is also a mirror to us, reflecting back to us what true reality is.
We sometimes have our view of the world and ourselves and our circumstances colored by our negative experiences and emotions.
If we have failed at something or been hurt in a specific situation, we might be tempted to be abrasive or not ever want to go there again.
The word of God helps us get past all of the negative emotions and fears and helps us see the situation as it truly is and give us the courage to take the necessary steps forward towards freedom.
Are you unsure about something in your life? Let God's word bring clarity. Look into the mirror of God's word.
Have a nice day everyone !
