Good morning church family!
Hope you are all doing well. And if you aren't, please reach out to your brothers and sisters in Christ. We were never meant to walk alone.
On Sunday we listened to Dr. Tony Evans sermon on Christian maturity.
He refers to Hebrew 5:13-14
13 for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. 14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.
Dr. Evans explains how we press on to grow to maturity.
In verse13 talks about how the believers were unskilled in the word of righteousness.
Meaning that the word of God was not what was informing life's decisions.
We grow in maturity and press on against the influence of our culture when we not only hear God's word, but God's word is what informs our decision making.
It's not how much of the bible that you read that makes you mature, nor how many bible verse's you have memorized.
It is the ability to let the word of God be the determining factor in what next step you will take.
Has someone hurt you? How is the word of God helping you navigate that pain and your next action? Are you going to gloss over this situation like it never happened? Are you going to retaliate? How do you decide what is the right thing to do?
God wants to give you a word. Part of the test is not going anywhere with this situation until the word of God has given you a clear path to take.
God knows that we don't instantly practice this new way of life, that is waiting on God to give us direction or His word to inform how we view a situation.
This is why God allows trials in our life. They are the training field for us to practice using God's word and the Holy Spirit to inform us and give us our next marching orders.
God is for you, He knows what will bring about the best outcome. He wants to refresh your soul from the heavy weight of the events you experience daily.
He is a wellspring from which we can draw but often have not practiced doing so.
Whatever you are going through today, let me encourage you to have your life informed by the word of God today.
Love you guys! Have a great day!

Thanks Erica💗
I needed that reminder this morning! Thank you!
Yes! Thanks for the reminder Erica 😊 Our steps should be informed by the word. Especially when things are difficult (which they are right now!)
Good reminder. Without the word of God we are miserable. We need him for everything in everything. Thank you Jesus. Have a great day Erica 🙂â¤ï¸
