As you go…

Good morning beloved Forever Family! Sunday Pastor Glen spoke on the importance of being thankful. One verse that really spoke to me and brought it home for me was Luke 17, the story of the lepers.  Let’s read it together

Luke 17:11-19 ESV
“On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance and lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” When he saw them he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed. (They had faith enough to obey the call to go). Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. Then Jesus answered, “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” (Only one recognized their need to thank Him for what he did) And he said to him, “Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well.””

I was struck by two things, one is - as they went…obedience brings healing. It is important that we understand our need to obey and step into what God has asked us to do until healing as occurred. Let’s never give up because we don’t feel or see anything happening. Secondly, this one man who returned to give thanks and to worship Jesus, received more than a physical healing…YOUR FAITH AS MADE YOU WELL. He inherited Christ’s true riches and suggests that where the nine were cleansed from leprosy, the tenth was also saved from sin! Wow!

Weirsbee says this: One would have experienced all ten men to run to Jesus and thank Him for a new start in life, but only one did so. How grateful the men should have been for the providence of God that brought Jesus into their area, for the love that caused him to pray attention to them and their need, and for the grace and power of God that brought about their healing.

How often do we take our blessings for granted and fail to thank the Lord?
Too often we are content to enjoy the gift but we forget the Giver. We are quick to pray but slow to praise.

I don’t know about you, this week I spent more time recognizing my need to thank God for His presence, and the many blessings that I have in my life because God cares and loves for me. I have prayed God don’t let me just see the blessing but recognize my need to be thankful!
We are blessed beloved, even thought we might be in some difficulties, I believe God wants us to experience more then just healing but that we experience the abundant riches that come from a thankful heart.

God bless and may God keep you looking to Him! You are loved and seen!
