Good morning church family!
What a wonderful encouragement we received on Sunday to shine for Jesus.
I am reminded this morning of so many verses that talk about how we were first taken out of darkness. This is why we have a light to shine .
“He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness, and broke away their chains.”
Psalms 107:14 NIV
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”
1 Peter 2:9 NIV
We have been brought out of darkness and into His wonderful light.
This is the light we are to shine. His light, not our own.
When Jesus speaks of our good works shining before men, it is the works that He has prepared for us.
That is why I like that quote she gave from Dr. Tony Evans
” a good work is a righteous and biblically authorized action that is beneficial to other and for which God gets the credit”
God is not asking you to create your own light and set up your own works.
It is through that dependant relationship with God that these good works will emerge and that God brings glory to himself.
And so be on guard that nothing separates you from the source of light and the one who calls you to the good works.
Anyone without God can do good works according to their own standards. Only God knows which good works are best.
He knows which works will reveal more fully who He is to a world who knows nothing of Him.
My encouragement today is to let His light shine in you and through you in every opportunity that he sets before you today.
“For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.”
2 Corinthians 4:6 NIV
The more you know Him, the more you shine Him.

I love that teaching of God to let our light shine did it ever touch me.I have inside me so I will shine His light to others Him inside me so others will see His Presence by my action.I am called to shine of Him.I love God.
Thank you Erica, very encouraging… I’m praying that I’m able to shine brighter for God wherever I go. This has been very convicting to me, as I need to put this into action
