Good morning Church Family!
So many things spoke to me in Pastor Glen's message on thanksgiving on Sunday! and I would encourage you to share in the comments as well what God spoke to you during this sermon even if it is not on today's devo topic. I always love to read your comments! :)
Pastor Glen shared two occasions where thanksgiving was tied to the supernatural that really jumped out at me.
Who knew giving thanks over our food could be so powerful!
But I think the real point is : thanksgiving recognizes the one who is powerful!
When we practice the discipline of thankfulness, it opens our eyes to true reality.
- God is powerful
- God is in control of all things
- God is good
It brings humility to recognize that God has the bigger picture and we don't.
Oh how we must guard our hearts from complaining and negative voices, not only does it rob us of joy, but complaining and negativity is the basket that covers the light of Jesus and prevents it from shining and bringing light to those who walk in darkness around us.
Acts 27:35-36
35 After he said this, he took some bread and gave thanks to God in front of them all. Then he broke it and began to eat. 36 They were all encouraged and ate some food themselves.
When Paul spoke and gave thanks to God in front of them all, they were all encouraged.
Who around you needs encouragement today?
It is our natural inclination to complain, we need the help of the Holy Spirit even in thankfulness.
This is the will of God for you today
1 Thessalonians 5:18 "give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."
Prayer: Lord Jesus, help us today to have thankful and grateful hearts. Help us to see You, our day, ourselves and others with spiritual eyes. Help us in thankfulness be a light to others. Amen

Thank you Erica! God love us so much we have all the reasons to be thankful. Sometimes depending on our circumstances we do have a hard time to be thankful. Many verses tell us to be thankful no matter what. To rejoice in everything. God will give me us everything we need to go through our struggles. God is faithful even though we are not faithful. Have a great day. 🙂 â¤ï¸
