Good Morning Everyone,
Welcome back to our Pastoral Devotions once again. I hope you all had a wonderful summer. Not sure if it's just me, but it's crazy how fast time is flying these days.
Yesterday morning we had the honor and blessing of hearing our beloved Pastor Glen preaching a message once again with Part 8 of our sermon series "Hold Onto Truth". Pastor Glen touched on a lot of different aspects in regards to Scripture found in Colossians 3 which all pertain to to the heart of his message of making a house into an actual home.
I don't know about you, but as a Christ follower I would much rather have a house that truly is a home as opposed to a house that looks like everyone else. When I hear the world house, I think of the structure itself, but when I hear the word home it sounds so much more warm and inviting.
We know that the times we are living in are perilous and the Word of God tells us that those time would come. We are living at a time where Christian family values and the structure of what a home should be are breaking down more than ever. As Christ followers we have the Holy Spirit living inside of each and everyone of us and we have the power, grace, strength, and courage we need to live this life and be all that He has called us to be. As husbands, wives, children, brother, sister, etc., if we are submitting to the Lord Himself and walking under His protective and guiding hand, it will certainly be possible to submit to one another and have houses that are actual Christian homes filled with values that exude love, joy, peace, strength, and grace no matter what may come our way.
I pray today that we all allow Jesus be be the LORD in our lives day by day, moment by moment, and that through our submission to Him we would in submission to one another. May we remember we are His children and may we protect the Christian values that truly do make our houses into God centered homes.
Have a wonderful day my family,
Your sis,
Ashley
