Hold Onto Truth - Part 8
In a world of rapid change, where the traditional American household of the 1950s has been engulfed by darkness, we find solace in Colossians 1:13, which reminds us that God has delivered us from the power of darkness and ushered us into the kingdom of His love. Darkness, with its insidious power, is prevalent today, as evident in the state of our homes and society. Matthew 24:12 warns of the love of many growing cold amidst increasing lawlessness.
Amidst this darkness, we witness disturbing events like Leslie's garage being robbed, financial struggles, and a declining belief in the significance of marriage. Globally, people grapple with loneliness, polarization, and hostility. In this sermon, we'll explore the Christian household's role in facing these challenges.
We'll delve into the concept of submission, once seen negatively but now as a Christian value rooted in humility and obedience, exemplified by Jesus Himself. Husbands are called to love sacrificially, mirroring Christ's love for the church. Likewise, children are reminded to obey their parents, and employees are encouraged to work with sincerity as if working for the Lord.
In a world filled with darkness and turmoil, we must remember our ultimate Master in Heaven who sees and knows all. This sermon will guide us in navigating these troubled times and upholding the principles of love, submission, and obedience in our Christian households.
