Hello Friends,
Does anyone here enjoy being wrong? (Some of you are reading this thinking, "I wouldn't know; I've never been in such a situation". This devo is especially for you lol). As human beings, we generally detest correction, whether it's from a boss, parent, friend, spouse; you name it, we hate it. I'll put my hand up first to say that my hesitancy to admit wrongdoing has caused me more harm at times than the wrongdoing itself. Well, it's often no different in our relationship with God. Too often, rather than humbling ourselves to our Heavenly Father's correction, we justify, get defensive, make excuses, or even do the Jonah and run the other way! And all too often, we get hurt and we hurt others before coming to a place of surrender. This need not remain the case for us. We heard on Sunday that it is the mindset of rejection which so easily leads to rebellion and a heart that is unwilling to hear correction. Trying harder to obey God is never the answer. Understanding and resting in the depth of Christ's love for us is. Proverbs 3:12 says: "For the Lord corrects those He loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom He delights". Do you know that, if you are a child of God, the Lord not only loves you, but He delights in you? His correction comes becomes of His great love, not in spite of it, and with it always comes an invitation to greater freedom than we even thought possible. Let's take a moment with our Heavenly Father now, before carrying on with the day, to allow Him to correct anything in our hearts that is not in line with truth. No defenses, no excuses, no promises, just honesty before the One Who created us, loves us, adopted us, and is shaping our hearts ever more into the likeness of His Son, if we will only let Him in.

Thank you for the devotion Sarah. That is an eye opener, also a good reminder.
Thank you Sarah 💕
Thank you Sarah good reminder. Yes it's true sometimes we do have a hard time to take correction. For me it's how they voices a out. Sometimes correction could be said in a really harsh way. It happens to and I find that it was kind of scary. Tone of voice for me still affect me. Doing much better though with this. I am learning to not be afraid God is with me right. Have a great day. â¤ï¸

Thank you for sharing Sarah! I used to have a hard time with correction but now I accept it because I do understand it is important in my relationship with Jesus! It is easy to stray away if we reject the truth in correction! I desire to grow closer to God!
